Lately Eleanor is all about BABIES! She loves her dolls and will usually have 2-3 with her at a time in the house (sometimes all 5 which is crazy). She also loves to carry around their blankets, bottles, and a pillow. She absolutely loves going to church nursery, which Bennett was okay with, because they have TONS of babies, and a double stroller to push them in. When we drop Ben off at school in the morning and drive past church, she whines, "Church!!!" It's kind of nice that she loves it so much since we are there a lot for MOPS, Coffee Break, and church on Sunday. Every time we leave the house at least one baby has to come with us. She's become a negotiator on this. As we leave, she'll look up and say, "One baby?" And I'll tell her just one baby can come in the car. Then she'll say, "Blankie?" "Bottle?" Haha. We usually end up with one baby and a blankie.
Other things Eleanor loves are animals, reading books, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, going for walks/bike rides, swinging outside, SINGING, and doing whatever Bennett is doing. :) Usually he's okay with that but sometimes he gets frustrated. He's so so good with her. She'll say, "Look Buddy!" (What she calls him) to show him new shoes or a dress or her baby and he'll say in a baby voice, "Wow cool Eleanor!" I think she'll be potty trained way earlier than him because already sometimes she wants to sit on the potty when he goes!!! Eleanor is also really really good at independent play lately - a big change from when she was a young toddler! Give her a baby, some Paw Patrol pups, or a doctor's kit and she's good to go. She's also getting into puzzles lately, which is fun to see!
Eleanor is for sure our good eater. She will eat most of what we put in front of her at dinner, where Ben will eat only the bread/fruit, and then we'll have to force him to try the main dish. She is a MEAT lover, which is so crazy to me! She will eat hot dogs but skip the bun, and ask for "More meat!" at meals. Like Bennett, she's not crazy about veggies but is more willing to try them than he is. She's still not a huge milk drinker but is old enough now where we can tell her she has to drink some at meals.
Eleanor is so talkative lately! I understand most of what she says, and she can communicate most things. She'll definitely use 2-4 word sentences often. She understands a lot and I think is more advanced in her talking than Ben was at this age. She also LOVES singing and will sing almost all day long, including at 5:30-6am when she wakes up. She's old enough to understand when she's naughty, and will bite/pinch Ben when she's frustrated so then she gets a time out. Sometimes she'll stamp her foot while looking at me with furrowed eyebrows and that usually earns her a timeout too. Such a girl already!
Eleanor sleeps 7:30pm - 6am most mornings, though we'd like that to be 6:30am. We had to put her crib mattress on the floor of her crib because she was climbing out already! She'd get up, turn off her sound machine, close the door, and come out like it was totally natural that she was getting herself out of bed. Most mornings when she wakes up she sings, but often she'll call us, "Mommy where are you?" She is a good napper and sleeps 2 hours most days, from 12:30-2:30, and sometimes up to 3 hours.
The other fun thing we do a lot lately is play pretend. Here she is "sleeping" and hiding in the bushes. She loves to pretend she's a baby, loves to play with her babies. She'll tell me, "Shhh. Quiet, baby sleeping!" And she LOVES to play doctor with her babies and animals. "Baby sick! It's okay baby, I got you!" And not only does she love her babies, but she loves to give us BIG hugs and kisses too. She will randomly say, "I love you Mommy." It's so sweet! She's also super polite which is crazy - she'll say, "Scuse me!" when she toots, and "pease" and "thank you" when she wants something.
We don't go to the doctor until she's two next, but when we were there for Ben's virus she wanted to stand on the scale and it said she was 23.5 pounds, so she's growing! I think we are definitely past the difficult baby stage she had - she eats well, is growing, and sleeps! WHEW! For what a hard baby she was, she is such a sweet and fun and easy toddler! We just love Eleanor Beth and she is a JOY to have in our family. I'm really looking forward to seeing her as a big sister this February!!!

Just catching up! Love to read about Eleanor! What a big girl she is becoming!! That last photo of her holding the chicken is adorable and hilarious. :)
