Isla: 3 Weeks Old!

So crazy that Isla is almost a month old already!  She still sleeps a lot, but has some awake time in the morning and in the evening.  Sometimes during awake time she is content and likes to look around, but usually she's kind of fussy and needs walking/rocking.  This is definitely true if she's tired.  She will take a decent nap in the swing, but otherwise she loves just being held.  At night she still sleeps great in the bassinet next to my bed.  She eats every 2 hours during the day, usually just 5-10 minutes, and ditto at night.  She usually will do one 3 hour stretch at night.  The other morning she was super fussy and the kids were bored, so we packed up and went to the library.  Isla slept in her carseat the whole time which was really nice!  She obviously needed the sleep, and then I was able to give the big kids some attention.

We've moved Isla up to size 1 diapers.  We were low on NB and they seemed like they were getting small anyway.  Size 1 fit way better!  I'm not really putting her in NB sleepers anymore either...it just didn't seem like she had room to stretch her legs out.  She still wears NB white onesies underneath (and 3 month too).  Mostly she's in 0-3 month sleepers now.  We go back to the doctor on Thursday for her one month check up and I'm hoping she's growing well.  Breastfeeding is so challenging and a lot of pressure for us moms!

We have been SO BLESSED that during this first month we have not had to really cook at all.  My church friends set up a meal train site and so we've gotten three meals each week, which gives us plenty of leftovers for the other days.  Plus my neighbor and sister brought a meal too, and I haven't even had to dig into my freezer meals yet!  Usually when I'd start prepping dinner is when Isla starts her awake and fussy time, so it would be SUPER challenging to try and make dinner.  I'm hoping that by the time we need to start meal planning again (3 weeks) she will be in a little more predictable place.  :)  3 kids three and under is sure challenging, but we love them so much!!
