Isla 15 months

Our baby is 15 months old, and officially walking, running, and climbing everywhere.  I'm trying to enjoy this crazy active, busy stage.  As hard as it is, it's wayyyyy easier than when she was a fussy baby the first year of life.  She's now happy, social, and getting more and more independent.  She LOVES to be outside and swing or ride in her little push car.

Isla pretty much likes to do whatever the big kids are doing.  She does not understand that she's quite a bit younger than they are.  And she will let you know when she doesn't like you not letting her do something she wants to do.  She's definitely got her own opinions and ideas and can be demanding.  However she is also super loving, giving lots of hugs, blowing kisses, and clapping for people to cheer them on.  She loves to wave hi and bye, too.  She also LOVES Brad and playing tackle with him and the big kids.  Isla also loves music and dancing.  She's doing really well in church nursery now which is such a huge relief!

Isla is starting to talk a little, finally!  Besides mama and dada, she independently says hi, bye, ball (baw), up (pah), more (signs and says "moe"), and please (which used to be just rolling her tongue but now is more like "leeeeeez").  She will try to repeat words when we ask her too but usually she isn't super close other than the first consonant sound.  She can make some animal noises too (mostly things that roar, cats meow, and dogs ruff ruff).  Isla LOVES animals and loves to watch out the window for birds and squirrels.  She tries to hug any dog she meets.

Eating and sleeping are so-so around here.  Her eating habits remind me of Eleanor's (and they are almost exactly the same size at 15 months - one ounce difference!).  She's more of a grazer who can't be bothered to sit still and eat a large amount at once.  She does enjoy yogurt sticks, crackers, sweets (cinnamon rolls, donuts), pizza, cucumbers, steamed mixed veggies, and pretty much any fruit.  She does well with eggs usually too.  But she tends to like variety and what she eats well one day she might totally reject the next.  Sassy baby!  She also won't sit in a high chair or booster really so she usually is on a big chair like us at the table and she just stands on it.  Sleeping she's mostly sleeping through the night but with colds/teething she sometimes wakes up once or early morning.  She still takes two naps for about 1-1.5 hours (8:30am and 1pm).  Bedtime is 7pm and wake up is 6:30am usually!

At Isla's 15 month appointment she was 19 lbs 6 oz (up two pounds from 12 months) - 22%.  Her height was 29.25 inches which is the 12% and her head was 45.2cm which is the 36%.  She only got one shot this time and we'll do the other two later because she is sick with a cold and has a double ear infection AGAIN!  Tubes go in June 25......
