Renovation & Demolition Saturday!

So yesterday Brad and his dad put a second coat of mudding on our drywall in the family room! Yeah! I guess it still needs like 2-3 more coats, and they do about a coat a week, so maybe in a month the room will be ready for real walls??? It's exciting to see progress being made! Plus they have the fireplace in there up and running so that's great! Randy made us a mantle, too. We showed him a picture of one we liked and he just copied it! AMAZING!

We also finally let Robert (Brad's brother), come demo the soffit above the entryway into our living room. He's been begging to do it practically since we moved in. It was quite a job, but they got it down, dry-walled it, and put up the first layer of mud. Yeah! But the lack of that structure makes the living room look pretty bare and you can tell we really need to start decorating!

We also took our tree and Christmas decor down yesterday which was kind of sad. Everything looks pretty boring now. We left up the outside lights - I'm not ready to part with those yet! Here are a few pics from our day:
