Well, the time has come. We've finished all the small projects around our house and it's time for The Big One: flooring & kitchen. We started last weekend by taking out cabinets along the wall in the kitchen that separates the kitchen and dining room. We also (and by we I mostly mean Brad, his dad, Nate, and Barb - I wasn't too helpful) took out the FOUR layers of kitchen laminate flooring. Then this weekend Randy came down again and he and Brad TOOK OUT the wall that separates the kitchen and dining room. They also took out the soffits. Here are some pics of the craziness. Surprisingly, the kitchen is still fully functional, just not beautiful to look at. Yet to come: new hardwood flooring throughout the living room/dining room/kitchen, new lighting, new appliances, and either new or painted cabinets. Soooo...it might be awhile before this project is done! You'll have to wait awhile to see the final product!

It may not look like much right now, but already it feels SO much more Open! The kitchen feels SO much bigger! We just can't wait to see how it all turns out!
