Bennett had his first ever dentist appointment this morning! It went great! We went to a pediatric dentist so they really knew what to do and say to make him feel comfortable. We had read some books and watched a show about the dentist but he was still really apprehensive at first!
The hygienist showed and explained all her tools and let him touch them before she actually did anything. She made sure to mention he would get to pick a prize when he was all done, which made him excited. She was able to brush and floss his teeth, count them, and do a fluoride treatment too! He did great. The only part he didn't like was the fluoride - I guess it tastes bad.
Then the dentist came to have a look. He said Ben has a great bite, and no cavities. Woohoo! He also said he has nice spaces between his teeth which is good because it's less chance of cavities, and leaves room for the big teeth to come in.
Ben was super happy to pick out a brand-new toothbrush (Mickey Mouse) and sticker (Dora), and prize (this squeeze ball thing - he wanted purple lol). He also got new toothpaste and flosser picks which he wanted to try right away. I'm so glad it went well! We go back in 6 months.... :)
