Eleanor: 2 Weeks Old

Life as a family of 4 is a little crazy, but we love sweet Eleanor ("eyano" as Ben calls her), and can't believe we've only known her for 2 weeks!

Eleanor is a pretty easy baby so far.  She sleeps a lot and wakes up to eat every 2-3 hours.  We've had two 4 hour stretches at night so far.  She has some awake times now, but they aren't consistent.  We had one bad day where she hadn't pooped and was pretty uncomfortable and fussy.  Otherwise she only cries if she has to wait a long time to eat, has a dirty diaper, or is in the carseat.

Ben is starting to love her, although he still has plenty of jealous moments where he cries or yells "no!" when I'm holding her. He's even tried to sit on her on my lap.  :). Overall it's going well because Brad's been home which means a 1:1 ratio.  We make sure Brad gets some Eleanor time and then I get some Bennett time!  He loves helping with her though, and is getting much better at gentle kisses and touches.  He calls her "buddy" and "honey" and "baby sister" as well as Eleanor.  It's super sweet to see him mimic how we are with him/her.  He likes to give his baby doll "baths" in the baby tub and puts him to sleep in the crib when Eleanor isn't in there.

We had Eleanor's 2 week doctor visit today, and she now has surpassed her birth weight and is up to 7 lbs, 8 oz which is the 30th percentile.  She is 22 inches long, which is the 99 percentile (VERY different than Ben who was also near the 30/40th %).  Her head circumference is 35.5cm, which is the 62nd percentile.  She is growing great and the doctor was impressed!  She said everything looks great.  And she did a good job with the doctor too - no crying really...I just had to nurse her before and after the doctor came into the room. :)

2 week old Bennett on the left and Eleanor on the right.  Think they look a little bit alike?  Haha.  She has more hair and he had a bigger nose, but so far they look a lot alike!
