2 Month Stats

Today Bennett had his two month doctor check-up.  His doctor was again impressed with his strength and head control.  She was glad to see he's smiling and cooing and interacting with us.  He also smiled and "talked" to her a lot, which was pretty cute.  Of course, he also had a massive poop when she took off his diaper to check things out.  Haha.  The doctor also said, "Yeah, he's going to be a big boy!"  when she was checking him out.  Bennett still has a blocked tear duct, so she gave us some advice on other things to do, like wash it with J&J baby wash twice a day with a cotton ball to prevent infection.  But she said it's super common and will eventually clear up when his ducts open up as he grows.

Bennett weighs 12lb4oz, which is the 41st percentile, is 23.5in long (61st percentile), and his head circumference is 39.9cm (64th percentile).  At our last visit all Bennett's stats were at the 75th percentile, so I was worried when it appeared he went down, but the doctor entered all his last visit's stats into the new computer system and actually he was around the 50th for everything last time.  They upgraded to new computer systems this month, and she said last time they calculated the percentiles by hand, so she said they must have made a mistake and told us wrong last time.  His birth weight was around the 40th percentile, so she thinks he's doing well!

Bennett also got three vaccines today - one orally and two shots.  He HATED the oral medication and then really screamed and got beat red for the shots.  Afterwards I tried to nurse him to calm him down but he had just nursed about 15 minutes earlier when the doctor was in, so he wasn't hungry.  Thankfully he was happy to be cuddled and suck his nuk.  We even got some smiles.  Then he fell right asleep in the car!
